So... the CPAP experiment continues. I actually did fall asleep fairly quickly last night, and only awakened a couple of times for comfort shifts and having to go to the bathroom. So I haven't quite gotten the routine down, and had to get up really early this morning ANYWAY, so I was freaking exhausted when I did get up. Luckily, the parents went to visit my dad's family in Maine for the day (and night). What do I do to take advantage of the precious quiet?

Why, I slept all day, of course! Usually I don't like to waste this alone time. In fact, I realized it's the first time I haven't spend pretty much 24/7 with my mother since her accident back in December!(!!!) I'm the kind of person who needs tons of dead silent, peaceful, uninterrupted alone time, a fact that my family has never bothered to try and cope with on any level, and I tend to get extremely stressed without it. But frankly, when I asked myself, "What do I really want to do with this time that belongs completely and only to myself?" And SLEEP! was the answer.

So sleep it was.

I played with the CPAP humidity settings, making them warmer and more moist, and that really helped -- I didn't wake up feeling like I'd spent the night facing into a sandstorm. I did get a sort of sore spot in my nose and throat, so I don't know what that's about yet. The strap that goes around my neck needs some messing around with, but like I said, I'm still hopeful it will help.

Please don't spam the comments. I think you have to be a member to post. I know "it's" not about me, but it's fucking exhausting and depressing to love all people equally, to try and combat racism where I find it and do my best to be a good overall human being, and be told that I'm still a racist asshole and that nothing I can ever do, however positive, is ever good enough. Whatever. No wonder more people don't struggle to be anti-racist allies.

I mean, what would be the appropriate response, standing there shouting back at them? Shooting them in the face? Tempting, but has violence ever worked against this sort of thing?

Do I still have to put American Idol stuff behind a cut? Does anybody with a computer NOT already know who won? Eh, fuck it. What the FUCK? Seriously? I'm still standing with my mouth gaping almost a day later. I mean, I realize there was probably a concerted campaign to NOT vote for Adam, and his FUCKING AWESOME performances with Kiss and Queen last night were too late but...

I'm STILL going... SERIOUSLY? No offense to that Kris kid, but... seriously? America, you need to work on your homophobia. Not that we didn't know that already, but... seriously?

If you agree with me, vote in the completely unscientific but made me feel better "People's Did the Best Man Win?" poll.

I mean -- look at the expression on that Kris kid's face. That's my expression.

Well, on the positive side, at least Adam won't be chained down by the attrocious American Idol machine for the first half of his career, and he won't have to release that GAWDAWFUL ballad as his first single.

AND I'll be waiting in line for his first album, She-Who-Never-Buys-Music-Anymore.

Shine on, Adam baby, YOU ROCK. You're the only reason I got so invested in this season in the first place. Hopefully it won't happen again. I believe a law should be passed that NO ONE should be able to be the American Idol without ROCKING a pair of six inch platform boots. *nods*

I need an icon of that outfit, STAT. And to see a remake of something glammy with Adam in the starring role. Rocky, maybe? (Horror Picture Show, not the boxing one.)
