Summary: Vampires often die of boredom. Pam hopes this distraction will keep Eric around a while longer.


Pam is cautious of Sookie Stackhouse -- that's her duty as Eric's friend and second-in-command. But she can't help but think the human, trouble as she may be, has brought a sparkle back to her Norse companion's jaded eyes. Pam has begun to worry that Eric is catching the ennui that proves terminal to so many of their ancients. Sooner or later, a century or a millennium, the boredom sends them all to meet the dawn.

Unless, of course, those ancients find a distraction sufficient to spark their dead hearts. Pam wonders if the human is Eric's distraction at last.
