Day before SPN Day! Whee!
My mom won't read this, but Happy Birthday, mom! I owe you one full day of not complaining about the fact that you spy on the neighbors and threaten to call Homeland Security when the guy across the street flies his Border Patrol helicopter too low. *G*

I know shit about film or whatever, but this meta about the blocking and directing techniques in 3x01 - The Magnificent Seven is fascinating, and definitely backs up what we're all slowly coming to realize about how Dean is coping and how his relationship with Sam is strained because of it.

Random soap note: OMG I LOVE LUKE AND NOAH -- or NUKE, as we call them. Their scenes today were just awesome. You know,
svilleficrecs has written some really interesting meta about these two. At first, I was a little uncomfortable with the horrible things they've been forced to go through on the way to getting together, thinking that it was more than a little homophobic, and just a bunch of chicken shit ways to throw barriers in front of the Boy Secks. But
svilleficrecs made an excellent point that this is SOAP LAND. Everybody goes through hell to get together -- it's the nature of the beast. And these two are being treated just like any other couple, which is actually better than getting treated with kid gloves like some "Very Special Episode".

Hey! You know what I want to know about SamDean? If they pretty much live in a car and hotel rooms, eating diner food and drinking beer all the time... how the hell do they stay in such awesome shape?
Heh. Not that it matters in the big scheme of things. *G*

Onething I found interesting is where Dean keeps trying to run tothroughout this scene. Watch it again and look where he’s headed everysingle time Sam intercepts him. See it?
It’s the Impala. *glee*
Timeand time again we see Dean reverting to the car when he can’t dealdirectly with life. The Impala is Dean’s escape, his security, hishome, the thing that was there when his family wasn’t. It’s somethingthat can’t die, can’t leave him because he can rebuild it with his ownhands. It’s the one thing Dean has 100% control over; and because ofthis, the Impala is completely safe for Dean. So it’s not surprisingthat it’s the first place he instinctually retreats to when he’sfeeling threatened, vulnerable, or out of sorts.
