Happy Friday! (Bitch bitch bitch, moan moan moan.)

My Drusillabration fic is DONE! WHEE! I'm still not 100% certain of the voice -- that line I mentioned between insane and super-sane. But I'm pretty satisfied with it overall. I think it's a nice tribute to Dru -- though it came out a lot sadder than I meant it to.

Feeling a little bit better today. Physically, anyway. Hopefully this crap will be gone tomorrow!

You know, I love premiere season. I can't wait for my favorite shows to come back, and I'm really looking forward to some of the new ones. But one thing I HATE about premiere season -- they MOVE THE MORNING SHOWS AROUND! Grrr. I want to watch Judge Maria Lopez at lunchtime, but instead Martha is on now. Change is BAD.

~

I love that Glade plug ins (I think) commercial where the two kid sisters are spending 30 days writing 30 songs. The point, of course, is that the plug in still smells great after 30 days, but what cracks me up is the final scene where one of the sisters is lying on the floor with her guitar going, "Day twenty nine... fine... whatever," in monotone, after the first scene when they were dancing around all enthusiastic. Hee.

Yeah, I'm easily amused, I admit it.

~

Wait. MOONLIGHT TAKES PLACE IN LA???? Did I know that before? Man. They're not even trying to not be Angel.

~

God, I'm sick to death of dial up. Not only is it slow, but there's something wrong with my phone line somewhere -- either the modem, the wires, the jack in the wall, or any fucking where between here and wherever the hell phone shit comes from. I can't keep a connection for more than five minutes at a time, and if I move at all, I lose it.

~

Today in soaps... isn't there some kind of a law that says that two characters on two different shows on the same network can't have BRAIN TUMORS AT THE SAME TIME? Ugh.

~

Okay, physically I'm better, but I'm feeling really annoyed and anxious. Possibly the change in weather? Or just the fact that EVERYTHING ANNOYING that could happen today did?

And then I see something like this, and go awwwww, and everything seems better!

That is SO SWEET.

There's a ton of stuff going on in fanfic these days!

- Do you love Drusilla? Then don't miss druturns10, coming up September 29! Post a ficlet, a full story, icons or art. Anything at all to celebrate the introduction of our own loopy vampire Princess!

- chrisleeoctaves is looking for writers to try their hand at B/A for the 4th annual iwry_marathon</span></span></span> -- pick your due date in November today! She needs 10 more writers, ya'll. :)

- Don't miss the celebration of all things Angel -- the a.k.a. Angel Fan Festival, sign ups running from now until December 5! Anything and everything Angel welcome!

Speaking of fic, can one of my loverly HP friends please explain to me what an FQF is, and how it's different than a Ficathon? I've only seen this phenomenon in HP fandom, and I'm curious about it.

Oh. My. Goddess. Have you SEEN the new desert they have a Dominos? I haven't bought a Dominos pizza in years for a number of reasons, but... *drools*

It's a warm Oreo Desert Pizza. Wow. No, seriously, WOW. I WANT ONE.

Look. LOOK AT THE BOTTOM RIGHT CORNER: http://www.dominos.com/Public-EN/Site+Content/Primary/See+the+Menu/

Wow. Did I say wow already? I need a napkin.

Okay, I'm now watching the CBS fall preview thingy. Let's see what they have for us as far as Moonlight goes. Also, I'm seriously rethinking my decision to watch Cane, because as good as it looks, and as sexy as Jimmy Smits is, he just ain't Chris Meloni. Although I think I read somewhere that SVU will be re-airing sometime during the week, in which case, I WILL watch Cane. I mean, Jimmy Smits for one, and for two, I would really like to support a show with pretty much all-Latino cast. Oh! And Rita Moreno! And Hector Alozando!

Shit. I think I'm watching Cane whether I can catch SVU at another time or not. Okay!

I have to say, I'm torn on Kid Nation. On one hand, what an awesome idea, and I'm fascinated to see what the kids did. But on the other, there's the HORROR. Small children? Without adults? With no life experience, trying to run the world? I'm... not comfortable with that. Also, I keep thinking their water tower says Boreanaz. It may be a subliminal signal or something. *G*

Um... so Moonlight. Looks... not good. Four seconds of Jason Dohring does not a good series make. Not that I'm surprised, or won't watch.

Dudes... is Viva Laughlin really a musical, or does everybody just sing a lot? Oh my, CBS.

Ficathon stuff!

1.) Don't forget to bid for lots of multi-fandom goodies over at fire_fic. I'm offering up the long-languishing (and otherwise probably permanently so) Something Old: Book 5 for $100 (if a few of you want to band together and say, donate $20 each, that would work too, as long as fire_fic gets the hundred bucks. The same holds true for the $75 Bitch (Part 4 of the Scratch series), and the $50 fic of your choice. The only thing I'm looking for individual bids is the $25 per B/A(us) fic of your choice.

2.) If you love our heroine Buffy, take part in the "Buffy is the Hero, Damnit!" ficathon, run by ruuger! The fics can be shippy, but the primary focus needs to be on Buffy as an individual, and a hero! Sign ups end September 9! There's a ton of Buffy/Spike writers there, I'd love to see more gen Buffy or Buffy/Angel people! *hinthint*

3.) The results are in for my polls about my upcoming Liam-Angelus-Angel and B/A(us) ficathons in celebration of the airing of Surprise/Innocence ten years ago this coming January! Read more... )

~WOW. Is Vicent Kartheiser the first Whedonverse alum to come right out and say: "WOW, that job BLEW, man!"? Read more... )

Damn, boy! I mean, as curious as I am about things that happened behind the scenes on the various sets, it's still a huge shock to hear it from someone so bluntly. Is it me, or does that strike people as kind of unprofessional? I mean, yeah, he's entitled to his opinion -- especially since it was such a negative experience for him. I don't know, I guess I feel some loyalty to the cast, at least, and the only one he had anything positive to say about was Amy Acker. That rankles a bit. I do feel a bit bad for the boy -- as someone pointed out, it must suck to feel that disliked in your work. I mean, he's no Mark Blucas/Riley, is he?

Still, it seems to me that some kind of acknowledgment should be given that the show gave his career fuel it never would have otherwise.

Ultimately, either way, I can't blame him. We all know I rarely have anything nice to say about Whedon myself. And that I resent the hell out of the way the original shows got flushed down the toilet so Joss could go play with his precious, flawless fucking Firefly.

I don't know. On one hand, I feel for him, and he's entitled to say whatever he pleases. On the other, it bugs me.

(Edited to make myself clearer and maybe stop the onslaught. And hey, how about the rest of my post, huh? *points up and down*)

Fucking Jerry Lewis can kiss my ass. Dude, how stupid and fucking bigoted do you have to be to just start shouting "faggot" during a LIVE TELETHON? Yeah, ABC news, I'm sure he was shouting "Illiterate Fatty" -- 'cause that's such an effective insult.

Stuff and ANGEL and B/A FIC CELEBRATION PLANNING!

OMG BATTLESHIP EARTH IS ON TV.

Goddess, why can't I have cable? Didn't somebody vote this the worst sci-fi movie of all time? Although I wouldn't say it's even CLOSE to the worst sci-fi movie I've ever seen.

~

I can taste fall coming. I adore autumn -- it's my favorite time of year. Today was the first time I noticed -- it's about 4:45 pm when I'm writing this, and the sun is already behind the trees. By the time winter comes, it'll be pitch dark by now. Ah, the wheel of the year. *sigh*

~

I have to say, there is nothing quite like porn to bring people together. I met so many awesome people during Bring Back the Porn Day on IJ yesterday, and read some really great fic I wouldn't have otherwise! Who says porn can't make the world a better place? It certainly perked up my reading and writing habits! *G*

I'm going to be holding two celebrations over the end of this year, and into next. One for Angel, and one for B/A(us) to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Surprise/Innocence. I wonder, are people more interested in a traditional ficathon with assignments, or a general celebration in which you write what you want along the theme of the celebration?

Please pass the word along to anyone you think might be interested.
