Hi all! Happy Monday... only you know, not really.

RIP Patrick Swayze. :(

Quick Notes on the TB Finale )

Gossip Girl? All I can say is... )

~

I let my paid LJ account lapse, as I just can't afford to pay for a journal right now. So THAT means cutting my icons down to SIX OMG. I have no idea what I'm going to do about that.

Aug. 13th, 2009

I have ABBA songs stuck in my head. Soon you'll see why.

RIP Les Paul, musician and creator of some of history's greatest guitars. Ninety four years is a good, long life.

~

You know... I think I may be becoming a low-level plebe Trekkie. Because this announcement actually made me SQUEE:

Jane Land's Star Trek NovelsRead more... )

I should probably qualify that I'm more a Feminist/Female-Centered Trekkie -- I'm more interested in the female characters than the males. Not that I don't love Spock and Jimmy T. and the other boys on the bridge, but my heart lies with Gaila, Uhura, Chapel, poor misused Yeoman Rand and Number One.

ANYway, if that made you as excited as it did me (I downloaded them both. I don't care, I'll lug my laptop to bed with me to read them!), you can find the links toward the bottom of the Open Doors Project here: http://opendoors.transformativeworks.org/. They also have an awesome collection of vintage Kirk/Spock slash from the 70's, if that's more your thing!

See, this is why OTW is so important! They're working to give fannish history a permanent home so it can't disappear like so many of our great sites did in Buffy fandom. Drop by and see how you can help!

~

I AM STUDIOUSLY IGNORING ANY AND ALL SPOILERS and/or PREVIEWS FOR ANY AND ALL OF MY SHOWS. I've discovered that my viewing life is much MUCH happier when I don't have any clue what's coming.

~

Hooohahahahahaha! OMG this killed me! My, My Spock Couldn't Let It Go by [info - livejournal.com] zephtastic -- Spock gets addicted to ABBA, and everybody suffers. Except McCoy. LOL Hilarious!!!!

~

So, you guys all know I share a home with my folks. My mother runs the place like the crazy (but mostly harmless) passive-aggressive tyrant that she is. When the folks are gone, you know what my rebellions are? I leave the dishes in the sink OVERNIGHT! *gasp* I don't scrub out the catbox EVERY TIME I CHANGE IT! OMG! I have nachos for dinner! I stay up until 5 am and sleep all day! I don't get the mail until EVENING! I drink AN ENTIRE POT OF COFFEE ALL BY MYSELF! I AM SUCH A REBEL!

My teenaged self would die of shame. LOL

~

Copied from [info - personal] spiralleds:

liz_marcs has a post here that will direct you to one of two posts. One is asking for American's experiences with insurance as the system currently exists. The other is asking for those to live in countries with socialized medicine to share their experiences. Share if you can share on either side. And even if you don't have someone to share/don't want to share, it's an eye opening read.

PLEASE LEARN WHAT THE HELL YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT FROM SOMEONE BESIDES RUSH FUCKING LIMBAUGH BEFORE YOU GO RUNNING AROUND SHOWING HOW FUCKING IGNORANT YOU ARE ABOUT THE ISSUE. Kthxbai.

Diversity Icon Meme -- I thought this was interesting. (These are my LJ icons, not DW)

Total # of Icons: 118
# Icons Featuring Female Characters Alone: 15
# Icons Featuring Male Characters Alone: 26
# Icons Featuring Het Pairings (friends or romance): 16
# Icons Featuring F/F Pairings (friends or romance): 6
# Icons Featuring M/M Parigins (friends or romance): 8
# Icons Featuring Mixed Gender groups of 3 or more: 9
# Icons Featuring People/Characters of Color (GAILA DOESN'T COUNT): 17
# Icons Featuring Women of Color (AGAIN, GAILA DOESN'T COUNT): 11

Some counted in more than one category. The rest were divided between text, animals, and symbolic icons. Although only 17 of 118 of my icons feature people/characters of color (which is embarassing), at least the majority of those include WOMEN of color.

Anyway, food for thought.

Hilton wants us to think he's a Top? Hahahahahaha. No. Adam? Certainly.

Now I hope to never have to think about Perez Hilton having sex again as long as I live.

Adam... now that I don't mind one little bit. *G* Especially with a wee little American Idol champion from Arkansas...

Ah, Lazy Hump Day.

RIP Eunice Kennedy Shriver. Thank you for the Special Olympics.

You guys, THIS is what the much reviled "Club Nice" is all about: DBAD - DON'T BE A DICK.

Seriously, how much better would our planet be if we were just NICE to each other? BEING KIND DOESN'T HURT.

~

Had the weirdest dream last night -- 1st great love and last great love, and me in a gym? Like a high school gym, eating at a salad bar. I lost my shoes, missed the bus, and had to get a ride home with the latter in his Lamborghini (which, uh, he so doesn't have. Although he had a sports car once upon a time. He used to be such a label conscious yuppie.). Oh, and former wanted to go dancing, but only at a "rainbow kind of place." Dudes... WTF?

~

I think I end up taking this book nerd meme a couple of times a year.

The BBC believes most people will have read only 6 of the 100 books here. How do your reading habits stack up?

Instructions: Look at the list and put an X after those you have read. Tag other book nerds.Read more... )

You know, I suspect all my book nerd friends have done this already -- probably several times, like me. So I'll just randomly tag some. *G* [info - livejournal.com] divajess, [info - livejournal.com] yourlibrarian, [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com]

Damn picky ass dragons! So... As you can see, I have a couple new adults in the pen! The silly, fat pink one is Andy Bellefleur, and the lovely purple one is Pam Ravenscroft (Another female! YAY!) Well, the first thing I did with Pam was try and mate her with Rosey... and you might be able to guess what happened. They "wouldn't go anywhere near each other" WTF, you guys? I want a pretty purple and pink dragon! *sigh* Well, we'll just have to try again next week.

Good stuff, bad stuff... other stuff. Man, this allergy medicine is good.

Wow. This really gave me a whack in the head. John Hughes died today. RIP, Mr. Hughes, your movies were a centerpiece of my adolescence.

~

For Fans of the Great Green One!

If you love Gaila like I do (or you know, even in to a slightly saner degree. *G*), come and play! I'm talking with the mods of [info - livejournal.com] teamgaila to have a corresponding one on LJ, but ANYONE is welcome at the DW meme!

~

Oh, Google Ads, you so funny! Today's gem was, "Are You a Trekkie? Take our quiz to find out! YOU MAY BE DUMBER THAN YOU THINK!" Hahahahaha. I C WAT U DID THAR!

Wait, here's another one! LOL "Manifesting Works - www.QuantumJumping.com - Learn How to Jump Into Any Reality You Desire... For Real". Okay! I'm still not clicking that link. Unless you can guarantee Scott Bakula circa 1993 will be there.

~

Well, I'm finally going to check out Harry Potter tomorrow. I've got a bunch of errands to run later in the afternoon (HELLO new painkiller esp. for that special time of the month!), so I figure if I go to the early matinee, that will leave me plenty of time. It's funny, I heard kind of neutral-positive things about it, but no real squee, so... *shrug* I'm not always a huge fan of the movies as entities unto themselves anyway. I remember especially with GoF, thinking that the story was so holey, so convinced that every viewer had already read the books, that I swear anyone who hadn't would be completely lost.

But it's a tradition for me to see them in the theaters, and with only one more left, I shall continue said tradition with honor! Or... you know, snacks I snuck in.

~

I'm sort of building my own network of shows I want to catch up on, watching an episode or two every day. Right now, the list includes Star Trek TOS, Dexter, Legend of the Seeker, and Torchwood, among a few others. What I'm looking for here are your favorite anime shows. I know a lot of friends on my FList watch them, and I'm wondering what you recommend. My entire experience with the genre includes Vampire Hunter D and Spirit or... Ghost? The one about the kid who crosses over a bridge into a ghost world, I think. Shit, I can't remember. What else is good?

Please feed the dragons! :D

Is it really Friday? OMG that means it's almost Sunday! Whee!

RIP Walter Kronkite. I swear, I remember him being on TV when I was practically a baby.

~

I ended up all groggy after my treatment today, so guess what I did? Slept until 8pm! Which means I got NO writing done, and only a few of the icons for I had planned. Of course, part of the problem THERE was that PSP kept crashing, and I got frustrated. Which is when I fell asleep.

Anyhoo, I better get back to work and leave it there tonight. Don't forget, tomorrow is THE INTERNATIONAL DAY OF FEMSLASH, and I'll be posting goodies throughout the day! Mostly Fuffy, since they're my femslash OTP.

(I've been watching so much Gossip Girl, I'm tempted to sign off "XOXO!" Ugh. That SHOW IS LIKE CRACK.)

Jun. 25th, 2009

Warning: This post contains bitching at lazy-ass, inconsiderate people who refuse to type warnings!

RIP Farrah Fawcett. Your hair made part of my adolescence a slice of hell because it just. Wouldn't. Feather. But you were a fighter, and seeing Ryan O'Neil crying made me really sad. So... reast easy, angel.

And, uh... Michael Jackson. I didn't see that one coming. What was it Brian Kinney said on Queer As Folk? "If you don't earn respect when you're alive, you don't deserve it when you're dead." Word. I'll... refrain from adding any further comment on this. My momma said if you don't have anything nice to say... come sit next to me. *G*

My condolences to fans, friends and family.

~

My only comment on the warnings imbroglio is... why is it so hard to warn against things that are outside the standard vanilla sex (whether het or slash) box? Hell, I warn for foul language, excessive violence, and dark imagery as a matter of habit. To warn that there is torture, rape or abuse seems a given. *shrug* What exactly is the big whoop? Why are people freaking about about warning for hardcore content? If you can't read it in a novel in the erotica section of the bookstore (or hell, if you CAN -- I warn for BDSM, even though it is a perfectly legitimate sexual lifestyle between fully informed and consenting adults -- I warn because it's not necessarily all my readers' cup of smooth, sexy tea!) then you should warn for it. That's not a precise guideline, but... sheesh.

How hard is it to type "CONTENT: RAPE, ABUSE, NON/DUB-CON?" It took me three seconds. People who are whining about not warning don't make any sense to me... I mean... how fucking lazy can you get (and this coming from the Queen of Sloth)? And forget being inconsiderate and rude besides -- A LOT of people are asking for this three seconds of an author's time FOR THE SAKE OF THEIR MENTAL HEALTH. I don't get triggered by fic, but I still don't have a particular hankering for rape, abuse or dubcon most of the time, so I'd like a warning for that myself.

Really. Just suck it up and warn, people. It won't kill you, I promise. It won't violate your artistic integrity or whatthefuckever. Or your freedom of expression. Or anything else but that THREE FREAKING SECONDS OF YOUR LIFE. Is that really too much to ask if it means even ONE person doesn't get fucking nightmares from your fanfiction? Jesus!

The fanfic world has apparently changed since I was deep in it. *shakes head*

And just a side note: What the fuck is "victim privilege?" That's a frickin oxymoron if ever I read one.

~

I haven't seen the new Transformers (all the work Fox has had done on her face freaks me out), but this is interesting for those who have. A big part of thinking about racism is thinking about those small "oh, it's only a joke/robot/cartoon/song/etc." things that we indulge in every day that support making "others" out of those different from ourselves. Disney is probably the most guilty of this, along with a whole lot of other "isms," but it happens all the time and unless you're looking, you might not notice it.

~

Holy Hot Vampire Threesome, Batman! Dammit, why does it have to be on opposite Bones? Dammit, Jim, I'm a Doctor, not a network programming executive! I suppose it won't be too much trouble to catch Bones online and watch VD (heh) first run -- a nice lead in for SPN... for me, anyway, I don't know how successful it will be with the tweenies I know the pairing is programmed for. *shrug*

Whatever. I'm just going to stare at the banner for a while, if you'll excuse me.

~

Hey, you True Blood perverts! Head on over to tb_kink and get your VAMPIRE KINK ON.

Hahahaha. Hey, the next time a politician gets caught with his pants down, try Something Positive's "Political Press Confession Bingo!" Stolen directly from the LJ of the delcious [info - livejournal.com]thenyxie!

So... everybody knows I haven't written any fanfic bigger than a drabble in years. I must have been in some Adam Lambert-induced stupor when I signed up for the [info]paintedboys Kradam Fic Challenge! WTF WAS I THINKING? Oh well, I got a pretty specific set of prompts, so I think I can do that.

Oy!

I got one of those dragon eggs. I couldn't help it! It was shiny and pink, and you know how I am with shiny pink things! Heh. I didn't quite mean it like that, but it's funny anyway.

Please pet my shiny pink thing! :P

This is more important than my True Blood post.

I'll do that later, but first:

RIP Minotaur, awesome fan and indispensable friend to slashers everywhere. His "Sex Tips for Slash Writers" is a MUST read for anyone new to the genre. But his entire site is fascinating and informative. He was a big part of learning to write slash, for me.

He will be sorely missed.

I am Jack's complete over-caffeination.

RIP David Carradine.

SQUEE! Merlin is going to be airing on NBC starting Sunday, June 21! For those of you who have been curious about this slashalicious BBC show, now's your chance to check it out! SQUEE!

I do believe I'll be watching it again! I've been wanting to write some fic, and that will give me the perfect excuse to study the show more closely. *G*

~

*Sobs Senselessly* B/A FIC FROM *SNUFFLE* [info]chrisleeoctaves! *Chokes* "Five Ways It Might Have Ended For Buffy and Angel". Go. Read it. Bring Kleenex. Worship and feed back.

So I FINALLY watched the pilot of Glee -- I mean, paid attention to it -- and I LOVED it! I can't wait to see where it goes in the fall. Did anybody else just get like SO PUMPED UP during "Don't Stop Believin'?" I guess that's why it's been #1 on iTunes. *G* Has it been put on the schedule yet? I hope it's not opposite anything I watch... Although that doesn't really stop me anymore since I can catch things online with no problem.

Yay Glee! :D

~

Hey, I started a Twitter Group thingy -- called a TWIBE, of all things. LOL It's http://twibes.com/non-twi-vamps - for fans of all things vamp... except Twilight. They have enough of their own groups. So if you have a Twitter, feel free to join.

I have no idea what it's for, but hey. I like joining things. *G*

HAPPY LGBT PRIDE MONTH!

Mr. Obama, you rock. Now if only you would change your mind on the marriage equality issue (and a few other things -- I'm really concerned about the various privacy and spying issues that are still Status Quo from the fascist Bush regime. And seemingly getting worse.)

What is Pride?

If, like me, you're stuck in a place with no Pride -- well, not that there's no Queer Pride here, just that there's no big parade. The community is fairly insular, and for perfectly understandable -- though sad -- reasons. I always endeavor to be a good ally, and you know LGBT issues are my biggest political "thing", but I want to spend this month appreciating the contributions and tribulations of the gay community by appreciating its art!

Glaad, for example, has Pride TV a list of LGBT programming on Television.

The Logo Network (imagine, five years ago there WAS no LGBT network!) lists their top 10 Gay Movies You Have to See! Here's the list, if you don't feel like watching the video... )

I'm going to hunt a few of those down myself -- starting with But I'm a Cheerleader!

Music: Okay, first, I found this link, which is MUSIC YOU SHOULD BAN FROM YOUR HOME IF YOU DON'T WANT YOUR CHILDREN TO TURN GAY! Which, to me, means acts that I should probably try harder to support. I don't know if this is a joke or not, but the Jonas Brothers are on there as a "Gateway Band". Man, am I glad I'm not a Christian. I would hate to have to keep decrying the asshats that make my side look bad. *patently ignores the odder of the naked tree dancing Pagans with names like Sir DragonDancer and Lady NutFaery* He also lists the Dresden Dolls as a "safe" band, along with Cheap Trick and Evanescence? o_O

On a more legit note, check out OutVoice.net, home of the LGBT Musicians Top 40 list. I've been a freak for Indigo Girls music for YEARS, and though I've lost interest in her most recent work, Melissa Etheridge as well.

Want to learn something about LGBT visual art? Check out Wikipedia's LGBT Art Portal or GayCity USA's directory of artists' webpages.

Don't forget, our own fannish communities are full of wonderful queer writers, artists, philosophers and other characters, and lots of GAY PORN! *G*

Let's celebrate PRIDE!

~

RIP David Eddings.

In more fannish news:

~

Because of Twilight fame, Quileute Tribe hires a publicist.

I'm not sure how I feel about that. I mean, good for them for hiring someone to help with this, because the series makes soup out of Quileute tradition, right along with playing on the old Native = Animal trope. But still, it makes me uncomfortable that they should HAVE to do that. I don't know.

~

Extended Vampire Diaries Trailer:

Um... I'm less sure about this now, but... I'll give it a chance. The mantra, "At least it's not Twilight!" goes a long way with me.

Five Reasons the so-called "Buffy" re-boot Won't Work

Here, I have five for you:

1.) No SMG
2.) No DB
3.) No Scoobies/Giles
4.) No Big Bad of the Season
5.) No Joss (I can't believe I just typed that, but there it is)

Several of these are covered in the article. With his other ones, we could make ten. I'm sure all of us together (fandom-wise) could make a list of HUNDREDS.

NO, Kuzui's, NO! Go find something else you're only nominally a part of and gut THAT.

Cheney Backs Gay Marriage

He's still Satan. He's just a slightly less homophobic Satan. It's typical of the right, actually. He only feels like this because his daughter is gay. I remember my mother telling me a lot of stories about when she was coming of age in the 60's, rich women could always get abortions, even though they were illegal. Hypocrisy, they name is self-righteous right wingers!

I don't think basic human civil rights should be a state by state issue, personally.

~

Now this "re-booting" shit is just getting ridiculous. WRITE SOMETHING ORIGINAL, HOLLYWOOD.

~

I've decided to give PORN BATTLE VIII a shot. I haven't written anything in YEARS, but I can do 2500 words as long as nothing horrible happens between now and June 15 *knocks on wood*. I think I'd like to try a new fandom, AND maybe something Buffy/Angel-verse. We'll see.

If you want to see something B/A (or whatever *G*) from me, go over there and comment -- you can do it anonymously if you want. I'm willing to write PORN! in the following fandoms/pairings:

Buffyverse:

B/A (duh)
B/F
B/A/F
A/S
F/S
Frillow

Being Human: I'll try anything, but it will go better for you if it involves Mitchell. *G* I'm fond of Mitchell/Annie, myself.
SPN: Dean/Castiel
Merlin: Merlin/Arthur, Arthur/Lancelot, Morgana/Gwen
True Blood: Eric/Sookie, Sookie/Tara, Sookie/Pam, Pam/Eric/Sookie
HP: Remus/Sirius

I dunno, try me on something and maybe I'll give it a shot. *G* I get to choose whatever prompts I want to write.

What is "Biblical Marriage?"

Okay, I'm off to watch the Glee pilot again, because I wasn't watching it closely the first time, and all the SQUEE makes me feel like I missed something. :D

I've hardly watched American Idol at all this season after the try outs part. But I've caught a couple of Adam Lambert's performances, especially tonight, and... I just spent the last half hour voting for him.

Okay, you know, all of a sudden, everybody is talking about whoopie pies. Oreo packages them, the Today Show, Martha Stewart, and today the New York Times, all have features about the whoopie pie. It's the IT snack cake.

My family has been making whoopie pies for GENERATIONS. Okay, at least four, anyway. It's a mainstay (Maine-stay?) in the diet of my dad's family in Maine, right along with the Italian Sandwich (basically a sub made on Italian bread with olive oil, ham, cheese, green pepper, onion, black olives, pickles, tomatoes, salt and pepper).

I know I keep saying I'm going to come back and post more, but I keep getting distracted by assorted stuff. :) How are you guys? The only major things that have been going on with me lately are 1.) I joined the Weight Watchers Flex plan -- it's time I start REALLY buckling down and doing something about my weight, which is really out of hand. I've never minded being a big chick, but it's gotten to the point now that I'm not comfortable in my own skin. None of my clothes fit. I'm starting to see myself as an obese person, a negative view, instead of a fat chick (which was just me, and I was okay with it). AND most of all I'm not feeling good physically. Not because of my Crohn's, but in general. I really need to make a change, and WW is helping me learn the two most important things for me -- portion control and the most basic thing of all: THINKING about what I eat and why. Tomorrow's my first weigh in, so we'll see how it's gone so far.

The second thing, of course, is working on edits for OTHERWORLD. We just finished the second pass, and I imagine I'll get the third tomorrow, so we're almost done with that part! Unfortunately, I still haven't written anything new. I HAVE to get to writing again. I don't know what the hell the problem is with my creative muscles lately!

Hope everybody is well!

Hope you had an awesome one, babe!

Wow, I wish I could have taken part in this.

Happy 50th Birthday, ON THE ROAD. One of my all time favorite books, and yet I always forget about it between readings. The first time I read it, I believe, was on my way to one of my first Dead shows five million years ago.

I think maybe I'll give it a read in celebration, once I finish HP:DH again.

~

Okay, this might make me sell everything I own in order to buy a video game system.

Come on, you knew I was a Dead Head, didn't you? ;)

And as for those who are crying "Sell outs!" I remind you that the Dead sold out pretty much the minute Jerry died. For example, touring as "The Dead" was totally meant to suck money out of us Heads without the heart and soul of the band. Besides, the Dead have been a monster marketing machine since the 80's -- have you ever seen the licensed merchandise? The only reason I never complained about it was because they kept allowing unlicensed folks to sell tee shirts at shows, and treated tapers like human beings instead of criminals. The trade in live Dead show tapes has been a huge phenomenon of its own for as long as the band has been around.

Anyway -- the game sounds like a blast!

~

I'm so sad. It's been years since I watched any of my Red Dwarf episodes. So I pulled out my DVD's the other day and realized that I never bought the last four series. I could have sword I had all the eps on DVD, but I must have stopped DVD shopping before I got to those last ones. Damn. I wonder if I still have the old VHS tapes somewhere, because I really want to see the rest of the eps now! *pouts*

Well, I did a search of what VHS tapes I still have, and found I'm missing S6 and 7! I have 5 and 8, but who wants to watch only half the episodes? *cries*

Got another notice from LJ about my account expiring. I need to keep a close eye on my PayPal and make sure they don't say, "Oh, but you have automatic payments!" I do NOT have automatic payments. I just double checked to make sure.

I mistrust them THAT much.

Remember: Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get me!

I've had really spotty internet access all day, so I didn't get much of a post done. *sigh*

Sad news, the richest dog in the world, and fan worlds collide!

OH NO! I've just found out that my very favorite romance cover model of all time, Robert Ashton, has passed away. He's the model for the hero of my current novel! *cries*

This was posted by his brother over on the posting board at his official website: Read more... )

What a shame. He was only a couple of years old than I am.

RIP, Rob.

OMG! Mr. Weasley is in the first episode of Red Dwarf! And in flashbacks to the first season. Weird when fandoms collide! And I think that's Craig Ferguson as Lister's Confidence. Wow.

You know something surprising that has come out of the exodus to InsaneJournal? Getting to know people I might never have interacted with on LJ -- or anywhere else on the net, really. Read more... )

So, to all my new friends: you rock, and I totally love you! *glomps on new friends* Which in no way diminishes my love of my old friends! *slurps all over old friends*

Can any of my British or Canadian friends explain why Kraft Mac & Cheese is called Kraft Dinner where ya'll are? I've always wondered that, and I just saw a commercial that reminded me.

I haven't been very good lately about taking all of my iron every day. I often forget when I go to bed at night -- I need to keep my iron pills in the bathroom instead of in my office with the rest of my meds. I can tell I haven't been taking it, because I'm starting to feel weak and breathless again like I was before I started on the iron. I have trouble concentrating, and I'm very, very tired in spite of having slept for 10 hours last night. I need to be more diligent about taking my iron, because I feel like crap today.

Has anybody read LISEY'S STORY by Stephen King? I added it to my wishlist today, because I usually really enjoy King's stories that revolve around writing. I have a little bit of PayPal money to spend on books, and I'm looking for something out of the ordinary to try out. So far, I've got TWILIGHT by Stephanie Meyer and SOMETHING FROM THE NIGHTSIDE by Simon R. Green. Any other recs from any genre would be appreciated -- I'd like to broaden my literary horizons a little bit.

What's more wrong than a dog inheriting twelve million dollars? Being an ex-maid of dog's late owner SUING FOR IT because said dog allegedly bit her. And also, the article mentions that the vast majority of the Queen of Mean's estate was put into a "charitable trust".

Hey! You know how I love ebooks and encourage people to buy them at every opportunity? Now, I have a complaint that has nothing to do with the format as a whole, but has to do with a SPECIFIC kind of software. Look, I'm an author, and I understand the need to protect copyright and such, but much like the ongoing battle in the music and gaming industries, it seems like the so-called "security" measures are such a pain in the ass, I wonder if they LOSE more sales than they supposedly save.Read more... )

So, authors and readers out there, I highly recommend you STAY FAR AWAY from Palm/eReader ebook format. If I want to read these books that I purchased legally, I have to spend the next three or four hours downloading and installing them all over again.

I am a VERY unhappy Duckie.
