Why, Wednesday? WHYYYY?

You're supposed to be my friend! :(

~

HOT DRAGON ACTION! Or, er... actually, not.

Adopt one today! (BJPinky) Adopt one today! (TBJessica)

So I decided, since Jessica is all grown up (and we all know that females should have BABIES, as this is their only purpose in life!), I should breed her. And guest commentator [info - livejournal.com] frozenproduce suggested mating her with one of my pink fellas. Well, I mean, they're cute pink dragons with tidy wings and large show tune collections, so you can probably guess what happened. I introduced Pinky and Jessica, and they.... went "meh." And absolutely no Dragon Smexing whatsoever took place. *Sigh* Now I have to wait another day and try with Rosey. Maybe he'll "Show interest" in her?

Tune in tomorrow for AS THE DRAGONS... er... TURN? FLAP? SPEW FIRE? I dunno.

~

HAHAHAHA! Check out "The Honeymoon of Dean and Castiel" hahahaahhaahaha.

BWAHHAHAHAHAHAHA.

~

So... [info - livejournal.com] gabrielleabelle has a poll: Is B/A subversive? Does it subvert itself in canon? And seeing as how her entire FList seems to be Spuffies and B/A negative people, I BEG ONE OF OUR MORE ELOQUENT FANS ([info - livejournal.com] margotlefaye, are you out there? If I had a D Signal, I would flash it at you! And OH HOW I MISS HARPY RIGHT NOW!) TO EXPLAIN WHY B/A IS NOT *insert same old generally dismissive and insulting crap about B/A here*.

Keep your tone polite if you answer. Notice I didn't answer, because my answer would mostly be "OMG PEOPLE STFU! IT'S NOT CLICHE! YOU SEE A LOT OF "HEROINE WITH HERO LOVE INTEREST CONSORT" IN MODERN FICTION DO YOU? SEE TWO HEROES PROPPING EACH OTHER UP WITH (probably impossible) DREAMS OF HOPE, HAVE YOU? ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH! *throws violent tantrum, has heart attack and drops dead* And, I'm not entirely sure what she's even asking to begin with. Or why.

To Subvert (According to Webster's): 1 : to overturn or overthrow from the foundation : ruin; 2 : to pervert or corrupt by an undermining of morals, allegiance, or faith.

The Free Dictionary (http://www.thefreedictionary.com/subversive) has a more salient definition of Subversive: "subversive: Adjective - intended or intending to weaken or overthrow a government or an institution. Noun - a person engaged in subversive activities."

The thesaurus suggests "revolutionary". So... was B/A meant to destroy some fundamental tropes, as so much of what Whedon does is supposed to do? Does it destroy itself? Is it revolutionary?

I'm being a good girl, and coming back here to cry and hyperventilate and get hugs, and PLEADING for one of the many intelligent B/A Shippers on my FLIST to PLEASE offer a balanced view to that B/A hate fest over there. (They are not being mean about shippers, though, which is a nice change.) I had to leave about two comments in, and may not be able to put together a coherent answer besides "NO! WTF?" And so.

*breathes deep yoga breaths*

(Here's a puzzler: why is a Spuffy asking an Flist full of Spuffies if B/A is subversive in the first place? Don't answer that, it's just a little thought in my head.) (And hey, WHY HAVE I STILL NOT LEARNED NOT TO CLICK LINKS I KNOW WILL PROBABLY BE NOT-B/A FRIENDLY? IT'S BEEN TEN YEARS.)

Also, please don't bring up Spuffy in the discussion -- [info - livejournal.com] gabrielleabelle specifically asked people not to. It's also lame to bash another ship just to pump up your own, and not what the discussion needs.

I'm going to go throw up now.

~

You know what brought me down (or "up," I guess) AGAIN? Star Trek. I'm watching the Original Series for the first time in decades -- including the original pilot, which I've never seen before, and my blood pressure is back down, and I've just kind of... let that annoyance earlier go. Does this speak of the calming power of Star Trek? My continued over-investment in shows that have been off the air for years? Both?

Anyway -- I'm sad in a different way now. #1 in the original pilot was AWESOME. And an officer. And there's actually some surface level touching on sexism. There was an Asian fella in the transporter room! Roddenbury said in the intro that one of the reasons the original pilot was not produced was because it wasn't "cast sensibly" = too many non-whites.

Which leads me to think about IBARW and an essay I read today: Nyota Uhura is Not a White Girl or "now that we've got that clear, and you know that i'm not here..." by [info - livejournal.com] rawles. It's excellent food for thought, and a good explanation for why every time I hear someone say the word "post-racial", I want to kick them. (I'm trying to keep my temper down, because I'm dizzy! From the high blood pressure that I totally don't have! Oh, man, I'm having a total breakdown. Or else one of these new meds is making me more batshit than usual.")

Help me Original Trek (even-though-your-flaws-are-glaring-you-were-making-real-inroads-for-your-time)! Help me!

Or better yet, my beautiful, wonderful friends of all fandoms and ships and preferred characters and philosophies and temperments. I need some recs. Happy recs. Porny recs. Gaila recs. What I would love:

Porny, HEA Recs from any current fandom: True Blood, Supernatural (Dean/Castiel), Gossip Girl (Chuck/Blair or Blair/Serena), Merlin, Being Human, Star Trek XI, Kradam, and of Course, Buffy/Angel (B/A positive ONLY, please)
Eric Northman recs
Gaila/Uhura, Gaila/Kirk, or just Gaila recs (especially these -- I'm collecting links in my Delicious.
Fluffy Being Human fic (OT3 or Mitchell/Annie)
*Happy B/A or B/A Meta.*

Or write me some drabbles! Or post funny gifs. Something!

Misha Collins (Castiel on Supernatural) is the funniest guy in TwitterLand. I *heart* him a hundred times more than I did yesterday. Hee. http://twitter.com/mishacollins

Here! Someone was even kind enough to illustrate the saga for us. LOL http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d31/xmaszauzage/mishmish/bunkerdecollins.jpg

WTF is this? Is this legit or just conspiracy theory bullshit? Ain't no way I'm letting anybody near my computer without a warrant. I'd smash it first, Hard drive and all.

~

I went and got my CPAP thingy today. Fun! I've been calling it my iron lung on Twitter. It's not quite that drastic, and I swear I almost fell asleep on the nurse (not ON her, but in her presence) while she was testing the fit of the mask. I'm actually looking forward to trying it out tonight.

Dear Adam Lambert:

Never take off that coat. Ever. (Unless you're in drag, of course.) It works for you like, HARD. I voted for you an extra time just because of the coat.

Also, I love you.

Happy HOLY DAY OF SPN OBLIGATION. Bow down.

RIP Natasha Richardson.

That's so awful.

~

Okay, you know, all of a sudden, everybody is talking about whoopie pies. Oreo packages them, the Today Show, Martha Stewart, and today the New York Times, all have features about the whoopie pie. It's the IT snack cake.

My family has been making whoopie pies for GENERATIONS. Okay, at least four, anyway. It's a mainstay (Maine-stay?) in the diet of my dad's family in Maine, right along with the Italian Sandwich (basically a sub made on Italian bread with olive oil, ham, cheese, green pepper, onion, black olives, pickles, tomatoes, salt and pepper).

Heh. My heritage loves its junk food, yo.

Anyway, I thought it was funny.

Six Degrees of Whedonverse! The Buffy/Angel-verse's FIRST VICTIM is the guy from CSI New York! Hee. He's totally the EXTREME DEAD GUY in Aura's locker!

I'm looking forward to catching Kings on Sunday. I have heard much Squee.

Also, this poem was posted on [info]greatpoets, and made me laugh in a vaguely connected kind of way.

I am the King Now by John Ford )

Context: The speaker is King Edward IV, and his brother is Richard III, who is getting ready to put Edward's son in The Tower and take over the throne (I believe). Your history lesson for the day. *G*

Say Goodbye to Week 1 of NaNo!

Wow, it sure did go fast. According to my calculations (and the unofficial NaNo Word Count Calendar I downloaded), we should be at 11,669 by the end of count today. I need to be at the end of Act I by the end of count tomorrow! so far I'm only on chapter 2. ugh. I need to step things up a bit, huh? Considering the complete lack of order or coherency in my book so far, I have no idea how I'm going to determine where I really am or where i have to go in the story. Man, next month is NOT going to be fun. I'm actually thinking of moving on to another first draft next month, then doing the editing on The Sang in January.

~

Okay, I confess to indulging the evil crack that is the Twop board again. Now, I know more level SPN heads tend to populate my flist over here on LJ. So I ask you, some of whom are genuine, died in the wool, 100% Dean Girls like myself:

Has Dean not proved on more than one occasion that he can be a huge dick? (Not HAS, CAN BE *G*) He has acted like an asshole on many occasions. Does that make him any less of a ultimately good-hearted, badass, self-sacrificing, self-loathing hero? No. It just means that sometimes he's a dick. If he hadn't learned the responsibility of taking care of Sam when they hardly had anyone else, if he hadn't had hunting to give him purpose, he would probably be a dick a lot of the time. So... why do people have an embolism when he acts like a dick? or when he objectifies women -- or at least acts like a porno junkie/bimbo addict? Have these people not watched the same show as I have over the course of three and 1/4 seasons? I just don't get the sudden offense and confusion people seem to take.

Heh. I confess, when he acts like a dick or a horndog, it makes me laugh. *G*

~

Cut for Ghost Whisperer Spoilers )

~

Well, I guess the 9pm Friday Death Slot strikes again. The Ex List is gone... of course, it sucked worse than Moonlight, so I can't feign surprise there. Isn't Fox shoving Dollhouse into that slot? Gee, that does not bode well.

For the time being, I'm stuck watching Supernanny and padding my word count for the day. how about some RANDOM PORN?

~

NANOWRIMO DAY 7!

Excellent work today -- word count included an absolutely random, smutty unplotted sex scene between two characters who just met and don't really like each other. Whee!

Today's Count:
Zokutou word meterZokutou word meter

Total Count:

Made my goal, made up for yesterday, and got a few extra words in for padding. Yay!

I know, I'm a little slow...

I was going to say "on the uptake," but the fact is, I'm slow in a lot of ways. *G* Like the responses I promised A WEEK AGO. Where does the time go?

Anyway, a quick nod to some slightly dusty entertainment news: Clay Aiken - "I'm a Gay Dad."

Ehem.

~

So ANYWAY.

I haven't been writing my commentaries on SPN this year yet. My love has never fully recovered from last year's meh-fest. BUT... how hard has it been rocking so far? I mean granted, last night Read more... )

You know, I need to watch it again and write a commentary after all. So much going on! I even stooped to stopping by the TWoP board for five seconds... until the discussion once again melted down to "OMG THEY'RE SO MEEN TO DEEN!" vs. "OMG THEY'RE SO MEEN TO SAAAAMMMYYYY!" Ugh. Frankly, if I were Kripke? I'd take the fact that both sides feel their character is getting the shaft as a good sign that I've found a fair balance. But that could just be me.

As for other TV stuff... I caught a repeat of the first couple of new 90210 episodes. Now, for years, my friends and I had a tradition of getting together on Wednesday nights to get wasted, eat, and mock the show's campy/cheezy/soapy goodness. I watched the new version... and it's just ASS. i mean, it's like Gossip Girl Jr. and I'm not a particular fan of GG either. (It's on my 'guilty pleasure, i catch it when I can" list). I can't remember everything I watched last week. I really need to sit down and figure out my schedule.

Monday: OMG HEROES. Ehem. It will usually be Sarah Conner, then Heroes, but OMG HEROES this week! Hayden, honey, dump that Milo dude and call me.
Tuesday: House (he misses his boyfriend so bad)/Fringe, which I continue to love. It's got one of those huge, epic, goes-on-forever mytharcs that I LOVE. I adore the characters evil and good. And you know what I really love? The titles! I mean when identifying the setting. That is SO COOL. Watch this show if you haven't yet.
Wednesday: Baby, you know I'm still yours. Read more... ) Bones/Criminal Minds/SVU
Thursday: Smallville (still as cheezy as ever)/Duh! SPN
Friday: Eventually, Ghost Whisperer/Maybe Dr. Who CBC shows it on Fridays/NUMB3RS
Saturday: whatever, I usually watch DVD's or write
Sunday: ?/Desperate Housewives/Brothers & Sisters -- Cold Case is on Late Night, and I try to catch that too.

Don't you feel enlightened now? *G*

~

You know what I did during my year hiatus that was really strange? I watched Alias all the way through like, FOUR times. WTF? I mean, I always liked it, but I was never insane in love with it. Still not. But when i didn't feel like watching anything else during my odyssey through my DVD collection, I never minded watching Alias again. I have to admit, I love poor Sydney even more than Buffy for reasons I have yet to fathom.

I also learned to copy DVD's! So when my cousin gave me two free months on Netflix, I finally got to complete some of my long-languishing collections, one of which was the aforementioned Alias (S4 & 5), along with Forever Knight S3 (I forgot how badly it SUUUUUCKED.), Oz S6, the last few of La Femme Nikita and Red Dwarf. Very happy Ducky, and although now no doubt on the FBI's most wanted list, I feel more complete in the depths of my anal geeky soul.

Haven't done one of these in a while: What is my Personality Defect? )

Sep. 18th, 2008

Hello again!

I know, I know, I've been absent for what, a year this time? And I haven't been responding to responses to my occasional spurts of blab. Well... it's TV season again, and today I'm feeling especially talky meat! And I have every hope that this will actually be a CONVERSATION, wherein I actually respond to people who respond to this. I've been in a very weird hermit head space for the past year, I'll tell you. I've hardly exchanged words with another human being besides my family and my doctors at ALL! I don't know what happens... it's not that I stop liking my friends (although many of them understandably stop liking me), and I think of them and miss them often, but I just... don't want to talk to anybody. I suspect it's all part of my depression, but the meds I take are supposed to help that social avoidance stuff. It may be time to re-examine my med routine, ya'll. Although it can also be said that I am less insane in a loud and screaming manner than I used to be. I hardly ever rant anymore... it's usually just a softer sort of whining/complaining. *G*

SUPERNATURAL PREMIERES TONIGHT! *does SPN dance* I confess they really lost me last season. Not entirely by their own doing, although the episodes that did manage to air were less than stellar and fell way beneath the quality of S1 and 2, imo. STILL, I do love the boys, and I am really hopeful that this season will ROCK. Cut for premiere spoilers )

So far, I'm very happy with the stuff I've been watching. Monday is rocking with Sarah Connor Chronicles (who ever would have thought I'd have a crush on Brian Austin Green? I mean, he's so BUTCH now!) and even Prison Break is better than last season. Tuesday RULES with House and Fringe, which I'm desperately in love with so far. Again, developed a crush on an actor who did nothing for me before. HELLO Joshua "Totally Not Pacey" Jackson ! I love the doctor, and the FBI chick is not annoying. It's totally XFiles-y and gruesome, which I love. I give it a thumbs up so far. Can anybody explain the cow to me? I missed that.

Bones rules, of course, but I haven't found anything to watch after it, since the Wed. comedies on Fox just aren't my thing. I think SVU is coming back on Wednesdays, isn't it? And Criminal Minds? I'll figure something out. I don't really care, since THURSDAY is my love day. Smallville )

Looking forward to Lipstick Jungle and Desperate Housewives SPOILER )

As for other things around here, it's been one disaster after another, as usual. My stove died, my garage door opener shat the bed, the keyboard on my laptop gave up the ghost, and my wooby kitten Elsie has had serious trouble with her recovery from being spayed. She's fine, but it's been like having a sick child for the past week and a half, and she has to be supervised 24/7 to restrict her movement and attempts to tear open the wound again. Thankfully, she should be all done with the basic healing process on Monday, and the Elizabethan collar comes off so she can resume some semblance of normalcy. We'll see how that goes. Oh! And our asshole redneck neighbors cut down ALL the trees on one side of our house, so we have a lovely view of all the rusted out cars on their front lawn, and it looks like a small nuclear holocaust took place in our neighborhood. My parents flipped out, and there's an ongoing war between our households now because they not only wrecked our yard, murdered hundreds of trees for no reason, drove away the hummingbirds and who knows what other animals, but now we have all kinds of problems with the electricity, cable and temp levels in our house because that stand of pines protected our wire pole and the east side of our house. It's freaking ridiculous, and the first time since I was a small child that I'm considering all the mean things I can do that aren't precisely illegal. You know, like the old paper bag of flaming poo trick. But then I realized how stupid and fruitless that is, and the kind of karma that sends out in the universe. I'm working really hard on the forgiving part of life.

VOCABULARY CHARITY

I just wanted to share with you this excellent website which I've been using to jumpstart my brain when the writing stops going and the going gets tough. It's basically a little vocabulary game where you pick possible definitions to words--and with each word you score correctly, they will donate some rice to feed the hungry. Cool, huh?

Free Rice.com
Learn Free Vocabulary & Give Free Rice!

For each word you get right, FreeRice.com donates 10 grains of rice through the United Nations World Food Programto help end world hunger. Yesterday, a total of 184,681,920 grains of rice were donated. Is that not amazing?? Pity there's no way to increase our word counts in a similar fashion!

I know, I know, 10 grains of rice sounds lame. But then... how many hours have you wasted playing online games that send ZERO grains of rice? Besides, it's good for the brain. The vocab, not the rice. Although the rice is good for the brain, too.

~

Ummm. SPN was not my friend tonight. I should probably watch again, but in case I don't there is no squee in Supernaturaltown today. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. )

Also, Hayden Penetierre is fucking HOT, yo. She's 18 now, so it's slightly less creepy to think so.

ARRRRRRGH!

You know, I feel kind of bad for Sam in Houses of the Holy, having his faith busted like that. I'm a total non-believer (though not in an angry, bitter way like Dean), and still... poor Sammy. *squishes Sammy*

But then, of course, it's all ruined by the FIFTY TON HAND Dean squashes me with at the end. *rolls eyes*

Okay, as much as I don't like Whedon, at least he wouldn't foist THAT shit on me.

But you know what? Tall Tales cracks me up so bad, I'd forgive anything. Dean and Sam's impressions of one another? BWAH! "You're too precious for this world!" Hee! Which is a TOTAL set up for Roadkill and Heart, both of which RIP ME TO SHREDS! *sobs* And now Hollywood Babylon, which gives spectacular Dean.

Damn, I love this show.

Also, hey, [info]thenyxie -- I just noticed the exchange in Hollywood Babylon when the "Network Exec" mentions to the director and producer of "Hell Hazers III" suggests they make the movie a little brighter, because it's too depressing. The producer and director point out that it's a horror movie. Was this reality reflected in fiction maybe? I mean, really, isn't Hollywood Babylon just one giant sort of "Fuck You" to the industry?

~

You know, in years past, I've loved TWoP, especially for shows I watch mostly for crack!value. But almost universally, I have not been able to stand it for shows I actually like. Well, it seems Supernatural is not an exception. Demian is a DICK, yo. You would think that they would want recappers who, oh, I don't know, weren't assholes to the fans. Or who actually LIKED the show, but could make fun of it? Oh, well. I never spent any time at the Buffy or Angel boards there for similar reasons, so no big loss.

~

Desperate Housewives )

CHOCOLATE! SOMEONE BRING ME SOME CHOCOLATE PLEEEEEASE!.

God, I'm bored. Staring at not one, not two, but THREE porny stories that have no desire to go ANYWHERE is incredibly boring. *sigh* WHY DOES NO ONE IN MY FICTIONAL UNIVERSE WANT TO HAVE SEX? I mean -- there are people naked and writhing together, here, and now they're just like, bleh. DON'T JUST LIE THERE! FUCK! BLOW! STROKE! KISS! BITE! DO SOMETHING.

Ehem. Sorry. Frustrating day today, creativity wise.

Saturday Meanderings

Okay, you know I'm really old, right? Sometimes the kids today strike me with equal parts utter bafflement, sheer terror, and exploding joy -- which is the way of generation gaps. But MAN do I love X-Games. LOL! Of course, a lot of the veterans aren't much younger than I am. The God of Skateboarding, Tony Hawk, I believe is my age or very close to it.

Anyway, I'm watching some indoor skateboarding pipe thing on TV, and I LOVE THIS SHIT! LOL! During the winter, I'm all about the snowboarding and X-skiing competitions. THIS is sport, yo! Go, kids, go!!!

~

Okay, so... Moonlight )

~

I saw "The Rounders" for the first time today. I think Matt Damon's a sort of meh actor. He's never really done anything for me. But John Malcovitch. JESUS H TAPDANCING CHRIST, does he rule! His over the top Russian mobster in this movie was freaking INSANE awesome!!! His whole Oreo cookie thing? Awesome!

Also, I fucking LOVE Oreos, man. The white chocolate holiday ones are my favorite, but I've got nothing against Double Stuff -- or hell, even regular. LOL! I'd say they're my favorite packaged cookies, but I know the next time I have like, huge chunk chocolate chip cookies, I'll love those best. I'm easy when it comes to sweets.

Hey, and you know what else? I don't know jack shit about cards. When a card gets dealt in this movie, I don't know whether it's a good thing or a bad thing. *shrug*

~

A Supernatural Note: Fangirls, PLEASE stop complaining about the lack of SamDean! THEY ARE DOING IT ON PURPOSE. IT IS A THEMATIC SEPARATION, and ALSO A PLOT MANIPULATION SO THAT SAM CAN SEARCH FOR A WAY TO SAVE DEAN WITHOUT DEAN KNOWING.

Man. See, this is why I should NEVER EVER read the random opinions of fans I don't know. I forget that a lot of them are watching at an even more surface level than I am, and they're only in it for the Wincest. They don't seem to care what is ACTUALLY happening in the show. Ugh. Okay, I SWEAR I will never do it again.

Now, for some INTERESTING meta, check out Red Demons and Yellow Psychics: Color Associations and their Role in SPN's Visual Language Part II. I'm all, HOLY SHIT, MAN!

Another interesting change in my fannish behavior this time around? I actually *GASP* avoid spoilers!!!! I mean, if something sneaks randomly into a conversation, I won't like, FLIP OUT, but if a post warns for spoilers of a future ep? I don't click!

Wild, man!!!

OMG! FANGIRL EPIPHANY! (hot blonde vampire chicks not included) BOTH my favorite TV boyfriends drive 1967 Muscle cars OMG! I seem to have a thing for guys in big, black gas guzzlers! Okay, now I need similar shots of Angel and Dean driving their respective classics so I can icon it. Anyone help with that? :)

~

In closing, I just watched the Cold Case when they solve the 1919 murder of a Suffragette, and now I want to exercise my right to vote! It's so easy to forget the hell the women of that time went through to get us even the most basic of rights. It's good to be reminded now and again, so we can remember to be thankful and not just throw those rights away.

So I demonstrated the AMAZING POWER OF MY MIND today. For oh, the last week or so, I've had "Carry On My Wayward Son" stuck in my head. I keep bursting into it randomly every once in a while, hoping it will eventually wear itself out and go away. Nothing doing. Then this morning, I got in the car to go to the doctor, and guess what was on the radio? Dun dun DUNNNNNNN!!!! I made Kansas play... on the local classic rock station. *G* I've taken to calling it Dean Radio. *G*

Obsessed? Moi? Pft. You should see [info]thenyxie! She's at least 32.1% more obsessed than I am! I swear! *looks shifty*

And oh, hey, in completely unrelated madness! Are you logical or creative? I swear, no matter how hard I try, I can't see it any other but the one way which I'm not going to tell you. My mother says it looks like it's going both ways! What do you see?

OH WAIT! I SAW IT THE OTHER WAY! WTF? OMG THAT'S FUCKED UP!

~

Jesus, JKR, greedy much? You're turning into the Lars Ulrich of the literary world. Because you don't already have enough money, you can't let people make models of your shit for NO PROFIT? For a fucking RELIGIOUS FESTIVAL? You, madam, and your lawyers, are assholes.

~

WTFF? [info]thenyxie and I were just talking yesterday about how stupid it is that SIBLINGS can get married in Sweden, but GAY AND LESBIAN people CAN'T. Then today, I read this shit: Judge Upholds Arkansas Law Allowing Opposite-Sex Toddlers To Wed.

Dudes, I ask you: WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THIS COUNTRY? I mean, okay, the wording of the law was originally a mistake, but when someone tried to correct it, IT WAS UPHELD. SOMEONE ARGUED FOR UPHOLDING IT. What, was it the NAMBLA legal division? Just ew.

Wow. Who is that SPECTACULARLY lovely young lady playing the crossroads demon in Crossroads Blues? The one Robert Johnson made his deal with in flashback? Because WOW.

Ah, TV, you're so moody. Or maybe that's just me.

Oh, hey! I just realized that Thursday is National Coming Out Day! Get out of your closets and share the good news, kids! Or if you already have, share your story so that others know they're not alone!

For more information on coming out, check out the Human Rights Campaign's information page or PFLAG's Support Page!

If you're straight, but Gay Positive, check out PFLAG's STRAIGHT FOR EQUALITY campaign!

~

Hee. You know, Everybody Loves a Clown cracks me up in the beginning. Dean driving a minivan is bad enough -- but he's stuck listening to Captain & Teneille too? Ouch! I had no idea what that song meant when it came out, of course, but I remember HATING it and being really mad that it wasn't like "their other song". That song being Love Will Keep Us Together. *G*

Also? Why did Ash have to die? *sniff* Can't that have been somebody else's watch? You know, like... somebody swiped it, then beat him up, but he ran away and survived? *pathetically hopeful look*

And okay, you know how I love Dean, but... I just realized something disturbing about his freakout at the end of this episode. Dude, he always refers to Metallicar like she's his lover, his girlfriend... and at the end of this ep, he beats the shit out of her with a crowbar. I'm sure it wasn't purposeful but... man, that is seriously disturbing.

Hey, and you know something else I noticed? Hunter culture seems to be like a mix between standard hunters and Long distance truck drivers. Really violent truck drivers with really impressive gun collections.

Heroes and Supernatural, whee!

Happy Thanksgiving to my Canadian friends!

~

Damn! I can't imagine having been watching Supernatural first run during Season 1. The car wreck as a cliffhanger? Good jumpin jeebus! It makes me flinch and freak a little every time, and I've seen it what, three or four times already? AND I know what happens next?

That finale, man. Such an emotional portrait of that family! The YED giving that peek into Dean's neuroses seems particularly pertinent in view of what happened in tMS. Read more... )

Just my two bits. *G*

I gotta tell ya -- being the optimistic one is an utterly foreign sensation to me!

Heroes )

Ah, yeah. Heroes makes for a satisfying night of TV. How are you guys today?

So... Supernatural, and you? *G*

Happy birthday [info]itsabigrock and [info]a2zmom! I hope both of you VERY awesome ladies have a GREAT day!

~

Today in dirty SPN thoughts: the timbre of Dean's voice makes me happy in my pants.

Okay, show of hands. The first time you saw "Nightmare", who freaked out when Dean got shot in the head? Dude, this is my fourth viewing, and it still makes me go NOOOOOO!

Are you fucking serious with this shit?

Warner Bros president of production Jeff Robinov: "We are no longer doing movies with women in the lead."

Oh, well, then, here's my quote:

We are no longer supporting any movie in any way involving Warner Brothers. How's that for a headline?

It's fucking 2007 -- how much of a fucking troglodyte does this asshole have to be to SAY something like that?

But in happier, related news, it's being said what a lot of us knew all along -- losing Buffy was a BIG nail in the WB coffin. I still maintain that dumping Angel didn't do them any good, either. The discussion in that article is interesting -- the impact of Keri Russell's hair on Felicity's raitings, the fact that the CW isn't pulling in the ratings that the WB did. The book might be fun to read when it comes out!

Back so SPN.

Meg should totally be Sam's demon girlfriend. Is here any fic to that effect? Sam goes DarkSide, Meg is un-dead, fun and mayhem ensues.

I've actually been reading some fanfic, and I'm starting to notice a trend -- there's a lot of stories where SamDean have magickally induced sex, huh? I get the appeal of that, but it also seems like kind of a cop out. A short cut around all the complications inherent in an incestuous relationship. People want the pretty boys to have sex without all the baggage.

Hee. Desperate Housewives is too funny. In an evil nighttime soap kind of way. *G*Read more... )

Wow, Keira Knightly looks TERRIBLE in that Chanel Commerical. I'm sorry, but I don't buy her protestations that she doesn't have an eating disorder. Not with her looking less and less healthy every time I see her in something. It's a shame, really, she used to be such a pretty girl.

~

In closing, god DAMN is Jensen Ackles pretty. Amen.

Supernatural 3.01 The Magnificent Seven (Spoilers!)

Dude! Boobie Whisperer is doing Bloody Mary! I mean, I know you can't copyright an old ghost story, but pft. It's been done! And prettier!

Anyway... He's polling the electorate. Hee. )

I'm SO on board here, fangirling HARDCORE. I swear I'm one of those people who wants to defend the show against all the criticism floating around. Who the hell ever thought *I* would be in that position! LOL!!!!

Is it next Thursday yet?
